codeBeamer 21.09-LTS (Emma) - Licensing information

Every customer should renew their codeBeamer 21.09-LTS Licenses before upgrading, please contact with your Sales representative using sales@intland.com email address.
From 21.09-LTS the features below require appropriate licenses
- Horizontal Deployment
- Clustering
- Storing Artefacts (such as Documents, Attachments etc.) into the database instead of file system
- Document-Tracker

codeBeamer 21.09-LTS does not support MySQL-5.x! For more information please refer to Requirements - 21.09-LTS
Please refer to How to migrate from MySQL-5.7 database to MYSQL-8.0 if your instance is using MySQL-5.7.
Migration from MySQL and Oracle to PostgreSQL is available: Database Migration to PostgreSQL.

Project Templates, Horizontal Deployment files created with earlier codebeamer versions cannot be imported/processed, they must be exported/recreated again.

Hessian based API solution is deprecated in Emma version and will be removed in Felicity

Mass Edit functionality enhancements
- The functionality can now be disabled
- It can also be configured to execute the updates on items and show the results individually
- The "Check mandatory fields during Mass Edit" checkbox can now be disabled (removed), which forces the Mandatory validation to always happen

New Feature: Mass Review
- Workflow based review can now be executed on multiple trackers (similarly to the Mass Edit functionality)
- Mass Review depends on the same permissions as the Mass Edit functionality
- The "Tracker - Mass Edit" permission has been renamed to "Tracker - Mass Edit/Review"
Test Management
- Test Runs can be mass generated from multiple Test Sets -- requires setting the "massTestSetRunGenerationEnabled" application configuration to true under the "testManagement" node
Intelligent Table View
- ITVs are now resizable similarly to regular table views
- Regular and Intelligent Table Views can be configured to have their resizability always enabled

Maintenance mode
- codebeamer can now be set to "Maintenance mode", which prevents users without the right authorization to log in while Maintenance mode is active
- Users not having the related permission are also logged out when the system is switched to "Maintenance mode"
- A new "Access in Maintenance mode" user group permission has been introduced for this

Enhanced permission control for Comments/Attachments
- When "commentsAndAttachmentFieldPermissionConfig" is set to true in the application configuration, the permissions for the "Comments/Attachments" functionality can be configured the same way as any other fields on trackers
- The simpler configuration on the "Permissions" tab of the tracker configuration continues to take effect and they are evaluated with the field-level permissions of the tracker
- During the deployment of Emma, all trackers of all projects on the environment is updated to have the permission of the "Comments/Attachments" field set to "Unrestricted"
- IMPORTANT NOTE: After the deployment of Emma, the "Comments/Attachments" field permission of all projects that are imported from a pre-Emma template are set to "None" by default. It means that (if the enhanced permission control is enabled for Comments/Attachments) the permissions need to be manually updated for users to be able to use the Comments functionality on the given project.
Reusability of Excel import settings/mappings
- The settings applied for an Excel import is now saved for the given User and Tracker
- Users importing from Excel to the same tracker have their previous settings/mappings reapplied automatically
- This functionality can be configured to work on Project level (instead of User/Tracker level)
Display Public Tracker Views of Single Reference Trackers
- The user does not need to define separate Reference Views for each reference field.
- Filtering the items within the Reference Selector overlay became easier
Traceability Browser Widget usability changes
- Users now can easily create a Traceability Browser Widget of a Dashboard page using an already saved Traceability preset.
- Users are able configure a Traceability Browser Widget using the User Interface, and then use the Generate Wiki markup button and paste the generated markup to a wikitext field of a Work Item.
Copy Work Item link from Item Details page
- Work item link can be copied to the clipboard easily using one click or using a keyboard shortcut.
Ability to delete Shared Field and other Shared Field usability changes
- Old / unused Shared Fields are deletable, so unnecessary Shared Fields will not appear any more within the application.
- Managing Shared fields became more understandable and clear.
Redesigned Member type filter
- Member fields are now using autocomplete filtering for selecting users / groups instead of selecting them from a pick list which caused rendering performance problems.
Introduced pagination for members of Project Admin - Members page
- Project Admin - Members page became fast, administrators can easily manage members and roles (using drag & drop / context menus / icons) even more than 3 thousands of users in a selected project
Working Set performance and stability improvements
- Merge request dialogs show reliable information.
- Orphan branch hierarchy can be recreated when creating new working set
Stability of Run in Excel
- Import processes will be executed in a background job and they will work on a small amount of item at the same time which will decrease the memory consumption of excel imports.
Stability of Tracker Excel import

Refactor model of View if owner permission
- When a user has only View if Owner permission in a tracker then it is resource dependent to validate the accessibility of items.
- It is necessary to check the content of Assigned to, Owner, Submitted By, Team fields. Therefore the data model was changed and this permission checking process became fluid, the execution time of cbQL Queries are significantly decreased.
Rest/Swagger API calls can be throttled
- System admin of the codebeamer can control the number of API calls

Audience for OpenID can be whitelisted
- System integrators are able to define while list audience
Stability of Project removal process
- Removing a project is a heavy process, which could have cause a performance problems on the server
- Now codebeamer cuts the load on the server and make this process more relieable
