In the documentation, it is mentioned that the initial state of a new Work Item is New, and that the Unconfirmed and Unset statuses are primarly used for migration from legacy trackers.

However, it seems that the initial state of a Work Item is Unset.

So it would be usefull to update at least this wiki, so that it is clear that the Unset state is the initial state (I had removed all state transitions from the Unset state, and it took me quite some time to figure out that this was the reason why I couldn't make any state transitions anymore for new work items).
