Copy Work Item Link

This feature gives users the ability to copy work item link with a single click from work item details screen. The feature is available only on work item details page, editable work item page does not support it in order for users to avoid saving inconsistent URL on the clipboard. Copy works both with versioned and baseline mode.

Link Icon on the Breadcrumb Navigation

There is a link icon on the breadcrumb trail. When it is hovered with the mouse, the icon's color is changed, and the mouse pointer indicates that a user action is available by clicking the icon, and a tooltip shows off that there is a keyboard shortcut for the feature.

Menu Option in the More Menu

Same functionality is available in the More menu before Reference View Settings option, where it goes with Copy Work Item Link label and the same tooltip appears.

Keyboard shortcut for the feature is also available, which is the following: alt + W

Notification

A notification appears on the tracker item page to show whether the link has been copied to the clipboard or some error has been occurred, and the notification disappears automatically after a few seconds.

Generated Link for the Work Item

The generated work item link copied to the clipboard is basically a standard wiki link, which can be pasted into a WYSIWYG editor or Word. In an editor, the pasted link appears with the tracker item's:

• ID
• summary

No icon or badge should appear in the link. URL address is revision and baseline sensitive.
