How to fix if a Word import fails with an error message?

Sometimes it may happen that Word import fails because the Word document contains some "broken" structures internally or in an old format which is not compatible with codeBeamer, and the import fails with an error message like this:

As said this might happen because the Word document has some internal problems (the "Failed to add parts from relationships" in the message especially indicates this).

What you can do is that using Word's Document Inspector clean up the broken Word doucment. For more details see: Using Document Inspector.

So: open the document in Word, and go to the File menu and there you will find an Inspect Document menu. On its sub-menu click "Inspect Document", which will bring up Document Inspector.

This dialog comes up, where you should leave all inspection options (checkboxes) on.

Next the result dialog comes up: There you should remove all problems found ( especially the Custom XML Data) , and after this cleanup save the Word document to a new file using Save-as .docx. After this cleanup the final Word document should be importable to codeBeamer.
