What is new? - 7.7

SAFe® Template

From version 7.7, codeBeamer offers a dedicated template that supports the implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework in large organizations. Our newSAFe® Template comes with preconfigured trackers to help you manage multiple Agile Release Trains across the Team, Program and Portfolio levels. It offers flexibly configurable workflows, high-level Demand Management functionality, as well as granular release- and collaborative task managementfeatures, enabling you to align and control all processes and teams involved.

Enterprise Architect and JIRA Integrations

In addition to an already extensive list of integrations (MS Office round-trip, MS Project, ReqIF, Jenkins etc.), codeBeamer's functionality can now be extended with Enterprise Architect to incorporate UML diagrams, and JIRA syncing for continuous project updates. Through its one-click sync and integration, codeBeamer now allows you to import diagrams from EA to your ALM platform. After mapping your requirements structure, you'll be able to manage and trace the coverage of all your work items all the way through to release. The JIRA integration lets you update your codeBeamer data based on a JIRA project (one-way flow of data) by setting automatic sync intervals as frequent as every 2 minutes. Upon syncing, all changes in your JIRA project will be migrated to codeBeamer.

Enhanced Risk Management

To support efficient risk management processes, codeBeamer now offers updated Risk Matrix Diagrams. These requirements- and risk-based matrixes, with easily customizable background colors and value intervals, let you visualize both requirements derived from risks, and risks derived from requirements. Thus, codeBeamer's risk management functionality helps you ensure all your risks are mitigated, whatever their sources.

  • Updated Document View: better usability thanks to the customizable control bar with new control buttons, a brand new transition menu, and the updated WYSIWYG editor.
  • Our new Resourcing Extraction wiki plugin offers accumulated data about users and commitments, letting you efficiently track your team's performance.
  • Planner improvements: you can now set transitions and voting in the Release Planner.
  • Somewhat similar to the Document View, a Requirements Review is now offered to support collaborative requirements management.
  • The Coverage Browser offers advanced filtering options, and now lets you filter tests by status.
  • When executing test runs, you can now report bugs across projects.
  • Ratings may now be exported to Excel, and requirements may be filtered based on ratings.
  • Tables inside tables may now be imported, as well as images from PDF.
  • You can now join projects, set release hierarchy (add releases to releases).
  • A Kanban cardboard (with swimlanes) is now available for all tracker types.
  • Improvements in our notifications engine now let you set notifications for status changes only, or for work items in a specific status only.
  • You can now restore deleted items from the trash.
